Wishing Upon a Star

On November 18th, Mariah traveled to Nashville, Tennessee to audition for a slot in the Junior Singers Division for the 2004 season of CBS' Star Search. Mariah left home at 3:45 a.m., drove to Houston and boarded a plane for Nashville by way of New Orleans. Upon arrival, Mariah attended the audition at the magnificent Gaylord Opryland complex, home of the Grand Ole Opry.

Mariah audition among a group of several other prospective contestants. As her audition selection, she chose Yesterday by the Beatles. After her group completed auditions, the Star Search casting director selected Mariah, the only selection made from her audition group. Mariah received instructions and will be providing Star Search with additional information, including video of some of her past performances and interview material, by December 1st. Star Search begins in January.

Mariah is obviously thrilled with Star Search's interest in her. While the events of Nashville do not guarantee an appearance on Star Search, Mariah was one of a select few to have survived the audition process there.
