Mariah Stanley, “the little girl with the big voice”™, is a 15 year-old young lady from Buna, Texas, a small East Texas town.  She was originally compared to other artists (such as LeAnn Rimes, Brenda Lee and Tanya Tucker) in her age, style and strength of performance.  However, Mariah has carved out her own style and niche – power with a soulful country twang.  She performs a variety of musical genres, including country, gospel, R&B and pop, and exhibits vocal abilities, stage presence, and maturity far beyond her age.

In 2002, Mariah began efforts to become a professional singer in earnest.  Since that time, she has stunned audiences across Texas and the United States with her power, range and emotion.  Unlike most performers, Mariah's five octave vocal range permits her to perform a variety of musical genres.  Whether country, rock, R&B, or gospel, Mariah uncannily emotes the feeling and style of each song as if it is her natural and only style.  In little more than two years, Mariah has become one of the most sought after performers in the Texas music scene.  When not performing, she is a normal ninth grader, enjoying bicycle riding, outings to the lake or beach, swimming, and reading.  She is an honor student, has been a member of her school's student council, a cheerleader, and an academic competition competitor.  Onstage, however, she adds 20 years of musical presence and experience.

Quite precocious from birth, her affinity for performing on stage is no surprise to anyone who knows her.  As a small child, she "passed the hat" for donations at family gatherings when prompted to sing.  She first sang publicly at the age of 7, an impromptu performance during a local beauty pageant in which she was a contestant.  During the interview portion of the pageant, the emcee asked if she would sing for the crowd, obviously expecting Mariah to be too shy to comply.  Little did she know!  Mariah grabbed the microphone from her hand and stunned the crowd with an a cappella rendition of "Amazing Grace."  The rest, as they say, is history.

Since that impetuous beginning, Mariah has appeared at numerous venues and events throughout the country, and she has received many awards and accolades.  Mariah has appeared on national television (Pax Television's America's Most Talented Kids), local television and radio.  In fact, she has already had radio airplay of both original and cover music.  She has also performed for major recording labels and national entertainment executives from Nashville, New York and Los Angeles and was considered for the role of Disney's Hannah Montana.  Mariah appears at numerous venues and events throughout the country and has received many awards and accolades for her efforts.

Mariah is a regular performer at the Lake Theater in Lake Jackson, Texas and was a nominee for 2004 Female Artist of the Year (16 & Under) at the world-renowned Johnnie High Country Music Revue in Arlington, Texas.  Mariah has opened for such artists as Capitol Records star Jennifer Hanson ("Beautiful Goodbye"), Mark Nesler (writer of such number 1 songs as "Just to See You Smile" by Tim McGraw and "Living & Living Well" by George Strait), Curb Records singer/songwriter Jamie Richards, D Records artist Jason Allen, and many others.

Mariah is a student of The Image Factory under the outstanding tutelage of her artist development team of Jayne Lybrand Wesson (whose students include LeAnn Rimes, Steve Holy, the Oak Ridge Boys, Terry Gibb, and  many others) and Jim Wesson (an award-winning vocalist and forty year plus member of the legendary gospel group, The Chuckwagon Gang).

Mariah recently relocated to the Houston, Texas area following the events of Hurricane Rita in her home town.  Though she now lives in the "big city," Mariah is still a small-town girl at heart.

In a very short period of time, "the little girl with the big voice" has covered a tremendous amount of ground for any performer, not to mention one of merely 14 years.  She maintains a focus, a drive and a work ethic that rivals any performer.  That determination, coupled with her awesome God-given talent, has brought worldwide recognition including fans on three continents, in more than fifteen countries and twenty-five states.  "The little girl with the big voice"TM is truly on her way.

A new wind is blowing on the music scene,
and they call the wind
